Can Gay Marriage Really Be Legalized? Can't We Have That Right? (Blog 5)

Why does something have to be limited because something isn't "natural" or "normal?"  I don't agree on the government having the power to control how two people are approved or not approved.  Discrimination towards people is wicked and makes you the bad guy.  Why discriminate on how people are and what they do with their lives?  Why would the government care anyways?

There are different religions across the nation to understand that we have our own different beliefs.  One of them would be to shame on gay marriage, but it's a different type of situation when the government is involved.  I say that the government is getting "too personal" on the matter.  It's not like the world is going to end because two people of the same sex are able to have a marital relationship.

Can our government really have the right to separate the same sex from being together?  Evidently, the government has been against the idea of two of the same sex type of relationships, yet I see those kinds of relationships at school, the grocery store, and basically any other public place.  Why should people have to hide who they are?  The 10th amendment allows any other rights that are not already in the Constitution, up to the state, as in the state leaders.  This means that the government is choosing not to allow this to happen under their control.

The states that are okay with gay marriage is 14 states plus the District of Columbia which is: California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, D.C., Rhode Island, Maryland, Colorado, and New Mexico.  Why not just officially make it okay to have same sex marriages rather than judge it critically to an extent that it’s just foolish to go against?

Everyone lives their life in their own way.  The government can’t control EVERYTHING we do.  We know the basic boundaries but we don’t need to put up with extra limits that are stereotypical.  We should be able to spread our wings and take off to what we should be able to do.  We should/do have the power to make homogeneous relationships the same as heterogeneous relationships.  We need to fight what is right to all people, which would also mean having the right to marry the same sex.

The more we act upon this issue to try and change it, the better the outcome will be so that everyone can be happy.  So what if most religions aren’t too fond of this act?  They just need to ignore it and move on with their lives and keep believing in what they believe.  We should support gay marriage.

I agree With Ms. Crystal Reese that the government shouldn’t get that up-tight about gay marriage, and just let the gays be. There are bigger problems and our government than two of the same sex people being with one another. Our whole country should be open to it. It’s not the 1800’s anymore. “They just need to ignore it and move on with their lives and keep believing in what they believe. We should support gay marriage.” Summed that up perfectly and I agree with it.

We’re a “freedom country,” right? So, why can't people have that right to do what they wish to do. If they want to marry the same sex human, let them. If they want to marry a bear, let them. “Only if the bear is cool with that” The point I’m getting at is that people should marry whoever they want. Maybe they just couldn’t find love with the opposite sex.

In Crystal Reese's blog she says " I don't agree on the government having the power to control how two people are approved or not approved." I totally agree with Ms. Reese, I don't believe the government should have the right to tell a person that they can't get married just because they are the same sexes. I don't remember anywhere in the constitution that says we can't have gay marriages. If you really love someone which is the same sex as you then nothing should stop y'all from being happy with each other and getting married. After all gays and lesbians are still humans, they still are Americans like everyone else, so they shouldn't be kept from being with the person they love.

I was reading Crystal Reese's Blog and she brought up some good points. I never thought about how many gay couples we see everyday whether in school, or out in town, even in our own families, so why not just legalize it? The same sex couples are living together, adopting children just like they are married so why not just let them be married? You can't stop them from doing what they are going to do and if it's religion that's controlling that part or the government frankly it's nobodies business. I see a lot of people protesting against gay marriage yet if you were to ask them did god discriminate? because most of these people are religious that protest. Yes these individuals might be living in sin but they know that already and don't need reminding, plus even if they are "sinners" that doesn't make them who they are. People say that they influence others to do this well yes they do, it's a message to others to say that they can express who they are without having to hide behind closed doors.

Even though the government aren't letting these individuals get married, I think eventually most states will approve of it. It took us this long to legalize in some states but it will slowly grow. I really liked this Blog and made me think more about the legalization of gay marriages and how we see it all around us yet it isn't permanent like other marriages because they are the same sex.
